East Meets West

The Russia-Ukraine war once more brings into focus the transformations of the former Russian empire: Romanov rule was followed by Bolshevik politics, and after a period of post-communist consolidation, we now see the imperial renaissance under Putin. Ukraine is the victim of the resurgent thrusts of Russian imperialism. This package presents the many faces of the empire from the tsarist era to recent upheavals. In addition to the Russian core, the fifty books also extends into the outer circles of the imperial remit.

Library and institutional members are banded according to their size, as recognised by Lyrasis and Jisc. Based on this, our annual membership fees for a Single Package are:

Tier Band 2025 2026 2027
Small 0-5,000 FTE €386 / £331 / $468 €405 / £348 / $491 €1426 / £365 / $516

Large 10,000 FTE + €1323 / £1103 / $1571 €1389 / £1158 / $1650 €1459 / £1216 / $1732

Membership is for a minimum of three years.

Shown in table are annual fees in EUR (Euro, €) / GBP (Pound Sterling, £) / USD (US Dollars, $), excluding VAT.

Due to rising publication costs, a 5% annual increase has been applied for annual payments. The slight annual rise in membership fees reflects rising inflation rates alongside rising production costs for publishers globally. The renewed fees allow us to continue to use membership revenue solely to produce new OA monographs, moving towards an affordable, sustainable model for the future of academic publishing. And while the rises are around 5%, in real terms they are no more than a rise of around $20 to $100 a year.

If you would like to prepay your entire 3 year subscription, please let us know. The 3 year prepayment option benefits from a fixed annual price with no price increase during the 3-year term.

Invoices for Europe and Rest of World are handled by Amsterdam University Press (our partner). Lyrasis, a trusted non-profit library sector partner based in the USA, handle invoices for North America, and invoices for the UK are issued by Jisc. Access to titles will be provided within one month of payment.
