CEU Press is delighted to announce that the Library at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) has recently subscribed to our Opening the Future collective funding programme. With over 30,000 students representing 120+ nations, JGU is one of the largest and most diverse universities in Germany. Staff and students teach and research on subjects ranging from chemistry to biotechnology and physics, to linguistics, European history, cultural studies and much more.

Under the terms of the membership, students and staff at JGU will get unlimited, perpetual access to 100 eBooks on the history, politics, economics, and social and cultural changes of Central and Eastern Europe via two backlist package subscriptions: the History Collection and the Political Science Collection. In return, CEU Press will use the library’s subscription fees to fund new open access books, to be made freely available globally.

If you would like to see how your library might similarly enhance your digital collection of eBooks by becoming a member, you can watch a 60 second video and read more about the programme and benefits on the Opening the Future website.
