Central European University Press are pleased to announce that the University of Limerick is a new subscribing member to their Opening the Future programme.

This is a result of IReL’s inclusion of Opening the Future in a range of opt-in Diamond OA offers that it put to its members. We are very grateful to the University of Limerick, and to IReL itself for hosting our offer as part of its wide-ranging support for open access agreements.

The library at the University of Limerick has boosted their local collection by subscribing to the Past Meets Present package

This means that staff and students now have unlimited and concurrent access to 50 different eBooks representing a wide selection of socio-political, historical, and cultural topics showcasing the last 5 years of the Press’ publications

As with all Opening the Future members, the University of Limerick has enhanced their eBook collection with titles relevant to the university’s research and teaching needs - and at the same time their membership fees are funding new frontlist titles in OA format so that everyone, including their users, will benefit from the global open collection it contributes to.

Through the generous support of member libraries like them all over the world, CEU Press has already been able to publish several new OA books (with more funded and planned) which are freely available for download from Project MUSE, OAPEN, JSTOR and other open platforms. You can read about, and access, all the OA books on the progress page: ceup.openingthefuture.net/forthcoming

If you would like to see how your library might similarly enhance your digital collection by becoming a member of Opening the Future, you can read more about the programme, and sign up in just a few clicks at ceup.openingthefuture.net or sign up directly via Lyrasis or Jisc through your normal invoicing workflow.
