CEU Press are pleased to announce that Edge Hill University and KU Leuven have both renewed their initial three year memberships of their Opening the Future programme.

The library at Edge Hill University has continued to boost its local collection by subscribing to the Political Science Package on top of their original subscription to the History Package

This means that staff and students now have unlimited and concurrent access to 100 different eBooks on subjects including Central and Eastern European history from medieval times to the fall of communism, and socio-political, economic and cultural changes, both past and present, across Central and Eastern Europe.

The library at KU Leuven has decided to continue supporting the press’ OA commitment by selecting an OA Supporter package without backlist access.

The libraries at both institutions now also have perpetual access to the books from their initial subscription.

CEU Press and Opening the Future are extremely grateful to both institutions for their ongoing support. Their membership fees are funding new frontlist titles in OA format so that everyone, including their users, will benefit from the global open collection it contributes to.

Through the generous support of member libraries like these all over the world, CEU Press has already been able to publish many new OA books (with more funded and planned) which are freely available for download from Project MUSE, OAPEN, JSTOR and other open platforms. You can read about, and access, all the OA books on the progress page: ceup.openingthefuture.net/forthcoming

If you would like to see how your library might similarly enhance your digital collection by becoming a member of Opening the Future, you can read more about the programme, and sign up in just a few clicks at ceup.openingthefuture.net or sign up directly via Lyrasis or Jisc through your normal invoicing workflow.
