CEU Press are pleased to announce that the library at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a new member of the Opening the Future (OtF) programme.

The library has chosen to sign up to the Library Selection Package, which contains 50 eBooks selected for the programme by an independent panel of librarians on the history of the Central and Eastern European region, culture, communism, politics, and transitions to democracy. This package contains a cross-section of books and represents those CEU Press titles that might be of interest to many scholars across a number of disciplines - the books will all be available to access through the library catalogue and are hosted on Project MUSE.

The library will retain access to all of these books in perpetuity after three years of membership.

LJMU’s membership fee allows the press to make new books open in ways that do not burden authors that don’t have research grants to pay BPCs. CEU Press uses OtF membership funds to publish only new frontlist OA titles and has already published 12 titles fully funded by the programme, with several more funded and in the production pipeline.

If you would like to see how your library might similarly enhance your collection of backlist eBooks while simultaneously funding new OA frontlist books, you can read more about Opening the Future and membership benefits at ceup.openingthefuture.net.
